I will use a web-based energy calculator developed by the Lawrence
Berkeley National Laboratory in collaboration with the U.S. Department of
Energy (DOE) to:
- calculate the score;
- estimate the home’s energy use;
- convert that into a savings estimate; and
- develop recommendations for energy upgrades.

The 12-page report lists recommendations for energy upgrades that are
specific to your house as well as an estimate of how much these energy-
saving improvements can reduce your utility bill.
